I will be using the internet to take lessons in a couple of subjects. 2 of them will require video as well as audio. One of the things I will be studying is how to play the Chinese violin so the camera is going to have to be higher quality than the midrange webcams I have used in the past. Should I consider an hd webcam or is a camcorder of some sort going to give me better results? and provide a more useful format to store, edit, etc. Will 720p be adequate? I will be watching this on my 24" lcd monitor.
Also, I would appreciate any suggestions on lighting to use with either of these options. My "teacher" is a university student, so it is likely that she will be in her dorm (read terrible fluorescent lighting) when she gives me the class.
