  1. I have a couple of movies in *.img format.
    I've tried burning them, mounting them with deamon tools, opening in IsoBuster etc. Nothing works.

    The files are downloaded with DC++. Everything seems to have gone OK, and the complete files have been downloaded. Maybe this is a problem in DC++, but i'm wondering if anyone have had the same problems?

    The files are both over 4GB and downloaded to PC running XP and NTFS.
    However the PC with DC++ is runnning win98 and FAT32.

  2. What is DC++ ?

    When you say you've downloaded it, I hope you're not on about a pirate movie, because that is against the forum rules.

    These boards do NOT advocate piracy and you won't get any help here.

    As it says at the beginning of each post form,

    Before you reply, please observe our following forum rules

    Do NOT give warez.

    Do NOT link to warez .

    Do NOT ask for warez.

    Do NOT provide information how to obtain warez.

    Do NOT advocate warez.

    Warez includes pirate/bootleg movies.

    He didn't say, so let's not start in on him ... yet.

    I too have had issues in the past with burning images. All I can say is do it slowly, do it from a defragged drive, and do it with a GOOD program such as RecordNow.

    Nero6 has proven ESPECIALLY problematic to me. I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep it installed, or stick with the latest Nero 5 until they work the MAJOR bugs out.

  5. OK, I've just looked up DC++

    http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/index.php?

    Why are you backing up your own material using a file sharing platform ?

    Pieces of eight, pieces of eight...

  6. I've already tried mounting it in deamon tools, and there seems to be a problem there as well. Seems to mount, but i'm unable to view it.

    Guess i will try Gurms suggestion and defrag the drive.
    Wouldn't hurt anyway...

  7. Did I say these were pirate movies?
    No, i didn't.

    Maybe we're just a bunch of idiots sharing our own movies from our own snowboarding trips.

    Most hubs on DC++ don't allow sharing of illegal material.
    Same as the web, so don't be so paranoid.

  8. Don't be so over-protective - give us a link so we can have a laugh too ! When we get snow in this country the whole bloody place comes to a standstill. It would be interesting to see what other people do in it.

    yes you did say that - sorry ..

    ok - files were d/l to a fat32 drive i see (when i really read the whole post) .. i believe that can be your error .. avi files will also do the same thing with some apps on fat32 (report bigger and accually BE bigger than 4 gig but they are totally corrupted after a certain size anyway) ...

    No no, I think it's the FAT32 thing. There is NO way to make a file bigger than 2GB in FAT32, so anything that LOOKS bigger or IS bigger... is corrupted.

    What this means, in practical terms, is that you can never (yeah NEVER) work with DVD .img or .iso files under WinME.
