  1. Can someone help me with converting mpeg-2 files back to avi DV type-2 files? I am trying to figure out a way to store my camcorder footage on DVD without taking up too many discs. I thought about just converting everyting to mpeg-2 and leaving it but my editing software works much better with avi files. I am using Pinnacle studio 7 (which won't edit mpeg-2 at all) but even studio 8 handles avi better than mpeg I have heard. I tried using tmpegenc to convert my dv footage to mpeg-2 with no problem. I then used virtualdub to convert back to avi. It worked, but the file was very jittery and had lots of dropped frames. The footage was only 30 seconds long. It is possible that my slow computer contributed to it, but the original captured avi file plays with no problem. My next idea was to take the converted avi file and encode it to DV-type-2 with Canopus Decoder but Canopus would not recognize the source file. I then tried using tmpegenc to save the mpeg file as avi but tmpegenc didn't like the format. Any ideas on how to get the mpeg-2 files back to avi cleanly?

You can load the MPEG video into Video Studio, save it as a type 2 DV file.
    Hello.
