Well, i managed to buy a NAPA 311 VCD player for the purpose of watching in my TV all the DIVX i have. But all this jargon about the «bitrate», SVCD, MPEG2 and much more is making me confused...
I downloaded TMPGEnc and, for burning, i have Easy CD 5 Platinum w/ VCD Creator. I've read all the how to's and the help files of the applications, but,...
I have the SIxth Sense DIVX and i managed to convert it to mpeg with TMPGEnc, the conversion took 7 hours (aprox.)and it was 1.04 Gb. I cut the file in 2 with the Merge&Cut option in TMPGEnc. It played fine in WMP. I tried to burn the cd and the VCD Creator displayed the «Not Acceptable» red cross in the system clock reference (value: 105, and in the video pack size, audio pack and last pack size displayed probably OK. the napa has some trouble with standards vcds. it seems to work better if you lower the bitrate in tmpgenc.
Follow our tmpgenc vcd guide, load the vcd template as usual and then load the unlock template in the extra folder. Now change the bitrate from 1150 to 1149. Encode and then burn with Nero seems to work better for some.

  3. I want to predicate my remarks by saying that I spent some considerable time trying to get my Napa 311 to play VCDs. I tried all the software with all the options.

If you bought your Napa to primarily play VCDs I respectfully request that you get a large hammer and smash up the piece of s**t. Because thats the only way you'll get it back for deceiving you into buying it with the promise that you can play your own VCDs on it.

    Hope this helps

I only use it now for playing MP3s

Well, i tried everything with tmpgenc and i cant figure it out.
I have 2 vcds American Pie 2 (that lame chinese version) and Blade, they work fine!!!! all my DIVX conversions end up in chunky image and sound. There's got to be a way to have a correct conversion 'cus other VCDs work...why wont mine!!!
I'm thinking it could be Easy CD Creator 5 the guilty part.
    Help me out please!!!!
