I am a newbie to video capture, but I did do a search prior to posting and did not see my issue covered.
I was not getting sound in TV or in my MMC capture of hi-8 camcorder. I followed all the steps listed here. Finally tried connecting sound from the camcorder directly to the input to the on board sound. I finally got sound!![]()
Question:
Is there a way to test to find out if the problem is the input dongle, the output dongle, or the card itself that is the problem. It is an AIW 7500 Radeon. I checked the ATI site and the dongles are $10 and $20 US, plus shipping and tax. Don't want to buy what I don't need.
I have had the card for over a year, had trouble when I tried a capture on my general purpose PC, did not have time to troubleshoot. The card is now in a dedicated Shuttle XPC that will be used for nothing but video capture/playback.
Thankx in advance for any help!

I thought you said the sound started working, you drew a happy face.
dongle?
Shuttle XPC?
Does the Video Capture card have its own audio line-in that doesnt work, but the line-in on your sound card does?
