New Norcent DP-312 for $39.95

I just saw that a ton of Norcent DP-312 DVD players just walk into my local Walmart.

Really says very little on the box and I could not find one open.

Anyone know anything about this box ? Hacks for region code ? Ability to play DVD -R -RW +R +RW SVCD VCD Divx ?

At 39.95 it sure seems interesting.

I bought one and its a good player: plays dvd-r,dvd-rw, svcd, cd, vcd. Region hack using norcent dp-300 hack doesnt seem to work though. Thats why i return it

OH oh, no hack , but it handles dvd-r, you probably have not tried dvd+r.

I wonder if new hacks will come out.

Is there another unit you think is better where region code can be "hacked".

I bought a couple of Daewoo DVD-S150's at the local Sam's Club for $47.00 - great little player. Region hackable, multi-voltage 100-240v., Plays PAL on NTSC and NTSC on PAL, plays raw MPEG's, MP3's, DVD, SVCD, VCD, and almost anything I throw at it. Of course, it won't play Divx, or Xvid, but if you want that, you'll have to get something like a LiteON LVD-2001 for $150.00.
IMHO, the Daewoo is a great deal for the $$. If you can still find them at Sam's. If not, they're on Ebay.
