i haven't tried it yet but will a 60 minute video fit in an 80 minute cdr, vcd format?

In VCD format you will even fit up to 80 minutes on a 80 min CD-R.

If you're using the standard VCD template (video=1150kbit/s & audio=224kbit/s) then 1min=10MB. So you can put 74min on a 74min CDR and 80min on an 80min CDR.
If you want to play with the bitrate (for example to fill the CDR) take a look to the left under Tools | Bitrate Calculators (the vcdhelp.com com is good, they all do the same thing). -
thanks guys. i just encoded a 45 minute video, standard vcd format and burned it using nero. used up only 504 mb of my 80 minute cdr. now that is equivalent to 11.2mb/minute of video.
