Hi, I have a video that is exactly 29:41.28 minutes long. I know YouTube only allows videos that are under 10 minutes so I have to divide this video into three parts.

My question is, how can I figure out exactly what bitrate to encode the video at so that I get the most (without going over the 100mb limit) out of each ~10 minute part?

    use a bitrate calculator.
    1200kbps total (audio+video) is safe.

    resize to 320x240 before uploading.
1000-1100 kbps (mpeg4) video at that resolution is probably overkill.

  3. hmm, you could get www.VirtualDub.org, it has a bitrate calculator built in, or at least, when you have the Xvid codec installed.
    1. Download Vdub, and unzip it, no install needed (you know it's save when you don't need to install it )
    2. Install the xvid codec
3 Open the file in Vdub, hit ctrl-P, select xvid in the left list, click Configure, click CALC button.
    4. Fill out the fields, (target size, video time etc. ) and hit OK.
the target bitrate should be indicated now.
