  1. I'm following the VDCHELP.COM help guide to frame serve from Premiere 6 to TEMPGEnc, but get an error message:

File "C:\part0.avs can not open, or unsupported."

Every step in the guide looks like it was correctly implemented. I've tried TMPGEnc 12a and 12i. I'm using beta 37 of AVIsynth.

I've read in the forums that there is an issue with setting the VFP plugin priority in TMPGEnc. I tried adjusting these without success.

I noticed in the newer version of TMPGEnc 12i that there is a pop up description of the different VFP plug ins. None show support for the AVS file format.

Does anyone have any experience? I'm using AVIsynth to avoid the DV500 problem with TMPGEnc.

Thanks to everyone that can help.

  2. I just now found the READavs.dll for AVIsynth and installed it. Now TMPGEnc shows the AVIsynth VFAPI plugin but I still am getting the error message when I try to open the "C:\part0.avs" file.

Are there any successful users frame serving from Premiere 6 to TMPGEnc that use the READavs.dll?

    The readme.txt file states:
This is an import filter for TMPGEnc version 0.11e. It adds support
for Avisynth AVS files and VirtualDub VDR files to TMPGEnc.

  3. I have gotten this error and resolved it but I not remember exactly what I did. I will get you some things you need to do and check. (Plus I am away from my system now.)

    1. Make you sure you have that avisynth.dll? load to your windows or windows32 directory. (I know the instructions missed (or I did) that important step.

    2. Change the default file creation settings where you see the input files for audio and video. Therefore, if you mpg has only audio delete c:\part0.avs from the audio input and vice versa.

    3. Operational sequence.
    a. Export from the Priemere time. Select file type/program from the drop down window for plugin. (Sorry, I can remember the name.)

    b. Next (I think) the frameserver opens automatically but does not start moving (counter advancing and time elapsed).

    c. Next open the TMPGEnc. Make sure settings are ok. Then start encoding.

I am sorry but I can not remember without being in front of the screen. I know I had the same problem and it was frustrating to figure out what was missing. I think I respond to my forum posting with what corrected the problem.

I hope this happens. It will work and works great.

  4. I just now got AVIsynth to work. I changed the advanced settings in AVIsynth Premiere Timeline export to Random Access OFF. The guide in VCDHELP says to turn it ON.

It's always possible something else changed, but this seems to be what fixed it for me.
