  1. I tried playing a movie, i opened it and everything was fine, until is stopped 15 seconds into the movie. I have tried playing it in diff. programs, this doesnt help. I know i have the whole video, so thats why I am wondering why it only plays for 15 seconds?

    -thanks

  2. I opened it with virtual dub, and it said: index not found.

Sorry to say, but you get what you get when you get videos (not knowing how they were made) from a download client. I would suggest, having been where you are at one time to stop wasting your time and cpu cycles. The only way you will get good results is when you can control what is being authored. You will be wasting your time and pulling out your hair getting that stuff to work, and when it does it will never be right. Get my point. Good advice!

  6. I am going to tell you how to fix this, but also remeber that downloading movies that are in the theaters in illegal, and in violation of forum rules.
What goes around comes around. One day you are going to get severly ripped off.

    Get VirtualDub_MP3_Freeze.
In virtualdub, goto file open. Then check "popup extented open options".
Select the file and press open.

    Now check "re-derive keyframe flags"
press okay. This may take some time.

Now goto Video > Check Video for freezes.

Then delete the bad frames from greatest frame to least frame. Cutting only on keyframes.
Goto video > direct stream copy
and Audio > direct stream copy

    save avi.
this goes for any video that cannot be played.

Moderators. If this post is in violation of forum rules, please delete it.
    I don't think it is.

  7. @ joshto123:

    As what DivXExpert said.

Downloading movies (commercial) on the internet is a breach of intellectual property. We ask you not to discuss these things on this forum: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=124514
