  1. Hi all,

I ahve encountered my first problem with going from VCD to DVD.

I copied 2 dat files accross from the vcds onto my hard drive. Ithen used VCDGear to make them into MPEG.

    I then followed these instructions,

Open TMPGenc, select file, MPEG tools and click on merge cut.

Load all files in order i.e. file 1 and 2, select a name for the output and press run. This apparently is suposed to merge the files. It then says to click on the simple demultiplex tab. select the file we just created and press run to demultiplex.

We then have the 2 original split files, 1 file on a much smaller sixe and 2 more smaller ones that add up to the same size as the 1 smaller one....hope you understand.

It then goes on about .mp2 and m1v but becomes very very vague.

Any further help would be appreciated!!!!!

  2. i dont why its giving you problems but imo you just need to load the mpgs (not merged) into tmpenc through a dvd template and encode it
this is usually an easy process
i never use that merge and cut option in tmpenc b/c it gives a lot of problems in the past
worse case senario when you encode them separately is when you're playing the dvd in your dvd player when it comes to the second part of the movie ya know it will pause and play the second part
like i said that merge thingy in tmpgenc just would give problems like audio sync and stuff like that so i wouldnt use it too much
you may try some other method to merge the two mpeg files though
