Yes.
That is it's going to be some 4000-8000 CBR encode then yes. That's doing it all in software, with no hardware assist. PowerVCR does this, as do some of the other time shifters.To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
neoDVD and freeVCR also can do this. I go back and forth on direct MPEG2 captures. Quaility is slightly lower, but you save fair bit of time
