I had an old printer (canon multipass c530) and when I upgraded to XP, it gave me problems with the driver and later I gave up completely and bought a better printer. Now when I try to uninstall the old one form my computer(from add/remove programs), it says "the log file "C:\Program Files\Canon\MultiPASS\Unist.isu is not valid or the data has been corrupted. Unistallation will not continue". How can I get rid of it? Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

I may be in left field but why are you trying to remove a printer from add/remove programs. I may be missing the point but can you not just go to the printer/fax folder and remove the unwanted unit?

One way is to get a copy of Regedit, install, then delete the C:\Program Files etc, folder, then run Regedit. It should not cause you any problems, but it is possible you may have to do a re-install of the OS. It SHOULD clean the registry entries related to the Multipass.
Every time I disconnect my Multipass, either the 2500 or the 5500, I get a problem with the Desktop Manager, but I wind up reattaching it so no problem. -
DD,
Nah, with the Multipass, the Desktop Manager is an integral part of the install, but when you get rid of the printer, it says, on boot, "Cannot initialize Desktop Manager. It will be disabled" or somesuch. Hell of it is, it will pop up at random times as long as the machine is up.
