hp psc 1300 series - Status

If you have just installed a new print cartridge it is recommended that
you align it. Click on "Align" to align your new print cartridge.
I have clicked Align and it prints the test page. But it still shows up every time I start my computer. Is there a way to get rid of this at startup? This pop-up actually slows down the computer when it is starting.

Presumably part of the "HP Director" suite. Open that and look at its options, turn off everything you can -- you can always reactivate if you need it.
There is probably no need to have it auto start with Windows anyway, you onlyt really need the drivers.

And you did notice that this is a "video" forum? I'd post at a printing forum myself for that kind of question, but I'm naive.

It is a video forum, but this is the computer section

It only pops up during start up because it's an error (but not really), I may have to uninstall the printer.

You don't need to uninstall the printer (hardware driver), just the software that is harassing you in its eagerness to proffer help.

There's a lot of software that comes with HP printers now. Mostly unnecessary.

I didn't mean you weren't allowed to post here. I meant that it's not the focus of this forum and that you have less chance of getting a specific solution.

    HP itself hosts some forums.
Also there is the newsgroup comp.periphs.printers, though it seems to have declined in popularity recently, as well as a couple of others specialising in HP hardware.
