The problem I am having at the moment is to say the least is wierd.
I have no problems importing to dvd maestro .ac3 files extracted
using DVD2AVI. However, maestro refuse to accept a single .ac3 file extracted using VobEdit. And I am using same VOBs in both cases!!
In the latter case I get the error message "Media Detection Error (0xc10b0001)". I have searched the web and this is a pretty common
problem it seems. Nevertheless I didn't see a single good explanation
as how I could correct this small problem that keeps bothering me. Of
course one might wonder what is my problem since I have a set of
functioning .ac3 files (extracted using DVD2AVI). The crux of matter
is I everytime get a parsing error message from maestro after it
had imported 95% of the .ac3 file. It still works but in some of the
video clips I can see audio stream is somewhat after video stream
(in other words synch problem). I have noticed .ac3 files extracted
from VobEdit are 1 or 2kb longer than the ones extracted from DVD2AVI.
I wonder if this is the reason I get a parsing error from maestro
every time. Any help would be appreciated.
PS : * I have Windows XP Prof installed in my computer.
* I am using maestro version 2.9 build 2915a-1234,
DVD2AVI 1.77.3 version, VobEdit version 0.6 and
CineMaster 2000 player 1.0.

Why don't you extract with Smartripper or smth?
You could also try to process you audio streams with another program, e.g. Virtual Dub or TMPGEnc?Sony DRU-500A v1.0d
Toshiba SD-M1302 v1006
Philips DVDR885P v1.7/8 -
just an idea, why not try correcting the .ac3 files with ac3fix.exe (a command line program, should be in the tools section), before importing into Maestro.

It is like this. I have hired a lot of dvd movies recently and copied only parts of these movies (VOBs) I needed. I cut required parts from
a dvd movie according to following article:
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=133632&highlight=vobedit
This method is very efficient for anyone looking for exact VOB editing.
The output from vStrip-GUI works terrific when you play with WinDVD or
PowerDvd. All problems start when you demutiplex VOBs to import to dvd maestro. If you demutiplex using VobEdit, maestro won't accept .ac3
files ("Media Detection Error (0xc10b0001)"). However no such problems
when you demultiplex using Dvd2Avi. I don't understand this bloody
thing. Actually there is nothing wrong with my VOBs, I know this because I recently downloaded PowerDirector Pro trial version and
imported all VOBs without any problem (PowerDirector Pro has some
other limitations which I don't intend to describe here). As I explained earlier if I work with .ac3 files extracted from Dvd2Avi
it leads to a parsing error (it complains about the last frame). If
I just ignore the warning I see it leads to a slight synch problem (this you can clearly see if you carefully follow the lip movement).
This is a nightmare, I like to work with dvd maestro but because of
this synch problem I have started looking for programs which
allow you to import VOBs. I can tell you there are not many such
programs (at least for my knowledge).
By the way, has anyone else noticed that .ac3 files extracted
from VobEdit are 1 or 2kb longer than the ones extracted from
DVD2AVI. I wonder if this the reason for my synch problems?
When I start windows I sometimes get the following error:
msmsgs.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x68899a56" referenced memory at "0x01960424". The
memory could not be read.
I don't have a clue what the hell is this? Can this error anyway be
connected to the above error "Media Detection Error (0xc10b0001)". -
Ac3fix.exe is just what I needed to solve my problem. The above method
I used to edit vobs work great as long as I do not demultiplex them
but once I split them into .m2v and .ac3 files I realized that last
frame of .ac3 streams are not completed. Therefore maestro kept
rejecting .ac3 files extracted using Vobedit with error message
"Media Detection Error (0xc10b0001)". However, it seems DvdAvi doesn't
take the last faulty audio frame when it extracts audio stream, therefore I could import these .ac3 files to maestro (nevertheless I always got a parsing error message for these .ac3 files which ultimately led to a slight sync problem).
This time I fixed all audio streams extracted using VobEdit with
Ac3fix.exe before importing to maestro. This reduced the size of
.ac3 files by 1 or 2 kb (this explains why .ac3 files extracted
from VobEdit are 1 or 2kb longer than the ones extracted from
Dvd2Avi). Now maestro accepts my .ac3 files without any complaints.
And I can now see what fantastic dvd authoring program maestro is
because it fixes sync problems even when video stream is whole half
a second longer than audio stream. I thank bugster for suggesting me
to try Ac3fix.exe to solve this problem and I will certainly not abandon maestro after thi
