  1. Hi all, for starters I am really new to DVD to Divx conversions...so excuse any ignorance on my part

I am trying to back up a DVD using Xmpeg. Now I can get the video looking good using the Divx5 codec, but my audio is really messed up. It even sounds bad when I just try to play the disk in Xmpeg. I have tried using the software to extract it to both WAV and MP3 but I get the same ringing distorted audio that I hear during play back. I am most interested in getting a good wav file of the audio that I can pair with the video in TMPGEnc. Does anybody have any sugestion? Also yes I know that I can use Xmpeg to go directly to VCD format, but I would also like to save the video as avi.

    Thanks for any help!
