  1. i've been trying to convert a divx movie to svcd for some time now, but everytime i try to convert the audio, by using irtualdub, i get a message saying that the audio codec is unknown. i have both the ace codec pack & nimo codec pack installed. the video itself is encoded with divx 5.05. i've never had any problems converting divx to svcd in the past, until this one, and i've done others since then which have worked fine.
the audio actually plays fine when i'm watching with divx player 2.1, so it obviously recognises it, but perhaps virtualdub doesn't, so i guess what i'm asking is this - is there any other software available which will extract the audio?

i've also now tried the clip with divx player, but it ISN'T working with audio anymore. also, when i load it into virtualdub, the audio codec says 'unknown codec (tag 0055)' - could this be a clue to the codec i need? i have no idea how to find out what tag 0055 means, perhaps someone in here knows?

i realsie this message was in the advanced conversion forum, but i hadn't spotted the sticky until after i'd posted the message.

  3. igot it working now (well, it seems to work aanyway). i searched google for tag 0055, and it seems several other people had the same problem when using some versions of virtualdub. upgrading to VD 1.5.2 seems to clear up the problem.
