    I cant find any double sided dvdr on ebay. I thought for sure i found some a while back. I just need 1 so i dont want to order from a online store. I was wanting to backup Gangs of NY by putting disc 1 movie on side 1 and disc 2 movie on side 2. Too much work reencoding and patching all the vobs together.

    you do realize that with double-sided DVDs, you still need to move your arse from the couch, get up, and flip the DVD over to finish playing the movie on the other side.

    why not just "backup" the movie onto 2 separate single-sided DVD-Rs? it's basically the same thing, since either way, you still need to get up and change/flip discs....

    double-sided DVD-Rs are rare, more expensive than 2 single-sided DVD-Rs, and if you only wanna buy 1, as opposed to buying regular single-sided DVD-Rs in bulk, it will be even more expensive.
