  1. Just wondering about this question that occurred to me late last night and I realized I haven't the faintest idea. Anyone think they can explain it simply?

  2. In short, analog is represented as a waves. A digitial copy is just a collection of points along that wave. In order for a digital copy to work, it must have more than twice the sampling rate as the period of the wave.

    You can think of analog as:
    sin(x)

    While digital is:
    0, 0.0174, 0.0349 with a sampling every degree because...

    sin(0) = 0
    sin(1) = 0.0174
    sin(2) = 0.0349
