  1. hi everybody, i'm using dvd2one for my backups and i'm fine with it.
i have a question: when i play the backup disk, sometimes audio seems to lower for a while, does it depend on dvd2one's job or is it ok? i mean, when the original dvd is too big and the software need to shrink it a bit, does it work only on video or on both video and audio?
    many thanks to everybody.

I could be wrong, but the majority of these programs (DVD2One included) only transcode the video.

  3. I can confirm DVD2ONE does not touch the audio short of striiping out any streams you specify.

There are a great many threads in the forum accessable from the DVD2ONE web page stating this, inlcuidng the FAQ which everybody seems to ignore !

There's not much to compress. Audio is generally compressed all the way as it is. It's video that can be squished.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

The minute that you start messing with audio you will loose the 5.1 or DTS. DVD2One or any other programs of that type will not convert an audio. If you want the **** up the audio and video use TMPGEnc and create a VCD.
