Well, my two month old Pioneer DVR-A05 has officially fried. I must've burned 2 DVD-R's, 15 DVD-RW's, and 10 CD's. Funny, because it died while I tried to burn a CD-RW with finalize accidentally on. Hmmm.
So, I'm wondering, could it be just a defective drive, or am I a victim of hacked-firmware woes? It would spit out Power Calibration Errors and Track Mode errors, etc... probably faulty power supply problems who knows. Luckily, Pioneer stands by their warranty 100% and simply said let's replace it. Needless to say, I'm happy as hell, except for a few weeks without my drive!
Just wondering if anyone else fried their Pioneer.

i recomend returning the drive the first time this happens even if it burns ok for a few days after it will by the looks of it eventually fry leaving you wasting media while you try fixing the problem with firmware upgrades and putting the drive on different ide or jumper settings
assume the worst and send it back
