I'm using MyDVD and I can't add the VOB files from ripped DVDs. Is this a good program or is there a way to convert the VOBs to be read-able?
Any help is appreciated.

I don't think that MyDVD will import VOB files. What exactly are you trying to do? There may be a better way to do whatever it is you're wanting to do.

I was thinking of creating my own menu page or intro page and then adding the ripped files as the movies. Looking at the features of MyDVD, it seems to have cool menu making options, etc.
So is there a better method for this type of DVD creation. -
Oh I see and I'm sure there are many free programs or utilities on the "tools" page of this site that will do all that and more. I haven't done much of that except for some captured VHS video that I added a menu then burned to DVD using NeoDVD Plus (which is not a free program but will accept VOB files).

MyDVD is does not recognise VOB,ISO files. It only recongises avi or wave format files. If you can rip vob files to avi or mpeg2 format and make cool menus. I tried it using MPEG files and avi files.

neoDVD (not sure if Basic, but know Plus will) import VOB files. And the bundled DVD Builder on Roxio CD/DVD Creator 6 will import VOB files as well. Neither of these authoring products is very sophisticated, so I prefer to use DVD2AVI to get in AVI format and then convert to MPG.
