  1. Hi there!

I'm trying to figure out which dvd player out there has the best dvd-mp3 support. One of the main things i want to use it for is to play mp3 through my speaker system.

I noticed panasonic has something quite interested: Panasonic SC-DP1

can anyone suggest something else? I really want it to have a good mp3 support, ie long file names and such.

    THANK YOU!

  2. This may not meet all of your criteria, but it's an inexpensive solution: The Mintek 1600.

I bought my Mintek 1600 a few months ago for less than $50, and have been very happy with its MP3 playing capabilities. Nothing special, doesn't display long file names, but it cost less than $50!

Again, this may not meet your needs, but it was a very simple solution to my DVD-MP3 needs and the stereo RCA audio outs sound fine on my stereo system...

    just my 2-cents...

  3. truth be told i dont mind spending a couple of hundred bucks if i can get everything i need in one package... i've been waiting for streamium-250 to come out forever now... so i figured i might get a dvd player instead...

long file names or mp3 tags are a must in my opinion. Most of my files wouldnt be identifyable by a few first characters.

    could you suggest something else?

  4. Sorry...I only know how to be cheap

That, or I'd just end up recommending building your own entertainment PC for about $1000, then you could play DVDs, MP3, and whatever else in on your harddrive...

Sigh...well, at the very least, maybe this bump will get someone with more brains than I to notice this question

(That Panasonic does look interesting, though! If you can get a 30-day return policy, I'd say try it out!)
