capture & edit with PCTVpro?

I have a PCTV pro and try to edit a captured TV program (delete commercials FI).
Capturing works fine but not in AVI format. So I try to capture using Pinnacle Studio 7 (delivered with PCTV pro card).
This does NOT work, Studio 7 is not capable to fine tune my TV station.
I tried several other programs but they give the same problem.
It seems that fine tuning is NOT working in any other program than the PCTV tuner.
So I can not edit my recorded program!
Does anyone have suggestions how to solve this ??

why do you need to fine tune with the capture program?

just fine tune the channel you want using pctv tuner.
the program you use to capture will get the channel as you set it in
the pctv tuner.

im using virtualdub to capture to avi, but i have an OLD pctv pro.

you probably have a newer pctv pro (with wdm drivers),
and i dont think that virtualdub will work for you.

mybe you can use iuvcr for capturing.

Powervcr works very well for that card. Of course, it's not free like the others mentioned.

I do need to fine tune because my cable provider uses non standard channel / frequencies.
Capture programs do not seem to get the channels I set with the PCTV tuner, otherwise I wouldn't have any problems. They all have their own GUI without fine tuning. I can do A scan and some channels are found.
The GUI is mostly the same. Is this the one from MS that is availabel in the XP dll's?

I will try Powervcr (if there is a trial version) but I expect the same problem.
