Ok, here is the deal, i think i have found a bug in Nero. What happens is if you use the wizard and choose data cd, and in compilation info choose no multisession, disc-at-once, and finalize cd, the cd is not finalized for some reason. When i view the medium info on these discs it says cd-recordable and will allow me to burn more data. So then to finalize them I actually have to go into the continue multisession (not in the wizard) and choose finalize CD, which basically makes a new session and finalizes the entire disc.
Will these discs have any less compatibility?
VCD's, Audio CD's, Bootable-CD's, Copied CD's, and CD's burned from images are all fine. It only does this with Data CD's made in the wizard. Also if you are doing these Data CD's with large a large amount of Data (not sure but probably above 680mb) then a box will pop up saying that there is not enough space to burn unless you finalize the disc, if you click Yes these discs will be ok.
If you will notice, go into the wizard, choose data cd. Then go to compilation info and choose "no multisession", "disc-at-once", and "finalize cd". Then click ok. Now open compilation info again and notice that "finalize cd" is no longer checked.

I've not seen it, but thats because I don't use the wizard. Personally I'd contact them and let them know, because if its a problem in the new version they may need to fix it.

James, I can verify that I had suspected this for a while but you nailed it. Good work. This has happend to me wheh burning DVDs. When Nero was expected to close the disk, it informed me that it had to close the disk, which means if my data was smaller, it probably would not have closed the disk. I think Nero people need to look into this.

I tried to submit it to their support site, but am not sure if it worked, anybody that has a few minutes can submit my write up to their support.
I would appreciate it, thanks! -
the Wizard is a 'BUG'
good spot JamesB69, but I recommend to others that you don't use the wizard just as dcsos also mentioned
create a blank template and save it, then you just create a shortcut to the template so each time you click it, it opens Nero and all you do is drag n drop in the files and click Burn -
sorry to open up an old thread, but i finally got a reply yesterday from Aheads support. They told me this problem is not reproducible, yet i know others who have the same problem. Looks like they have given up on 5.5 with the impending release of Nero 6
