  1. Anyone know if its possible to link the finish of one 'film' to the start of another ?

I mean by this.... I have two halves of a film I am adding to a DVD, i want to use one menu button to start playback, so when one half finishes the second starts automatically. At present I have to use another menu button for 'part 2'.

    Thanks.

double click on the first video clip and set the remote mapping->next button and end action to the next video clip

  3. Thanks for the speedy reply, however I have found that although that tip works, it will only work if I have a link/button on the menu that points to the next movie.

If I only have one button to 'start' playback, the Remote Action boxes do not give any option for the next film.

    Messa,

what you can do is create a second button in your main menu, which you link to your second film. Then resize the button to its minimum shape and change properties so that its color disappears with the background.
Then you can change the properties of the first movie to link, at the end, to the second movie.
I used button templates from MyDVD. Some of them are totally invisible when minimized to the bare minimum.

  5. why not join the two mpegs in tmpgenc first? make it one video and resolve all that. use mpeg tools in tmpgenc and use cut/join to join them its quick and easy

  6. TMPGEnc merge could work, but I have never been able to successfully do that without ending up with the audio out of sinc in the second half. Give it a try but be warned.

As for the invisible button idea, it is a good one.

Also, why not add a few chapter buttons. You are in DVD world now and it is fun. Have a play button and a chapters button on your main menu, then create a second menu with just a few chapters, even just 4 or 6. Looks nice, is fun to do, is practical, and then you can also make the beginning of your second movie one of the chapters. Just an idea.

For another option, try DVD-Lab. I have been really happy with it, is easy to use, but has far more options than DVDit, which I used for a while.

  7. Jolard, been using DVD-Lab myself recently mate, awesome program.

Still using trial/beta 1.22b but once it is final it will be unbeatable for the money.

    Menu support is excellent.
