Just thought i'd make some people aware that these disks are not as good of a buy as one might initially think. I was also pm'd to try some samples, and decided to try them. They were sent overnight mail and I tested them out yesterday evening. The problem with these disks are that they will NOT burn @4x in the SONY DRU500AX, and probably not in any Sony burner. I can't speak for Pioneer but these disks are basically NOT TRUE 4X disks!
The burn process will start out @4x, and between 1-3 minutes later, it will quickly change to reflect 2x. The disk will burn @2x. I have tried to burn with the "max" setting in RECORDNOW MAX..as well as the "4x" setting...both yield the same 4x initially, but quickly downgrade to a 2x burn speed.
The Good News: The disks havent' had any freezing or locking up issues, however, for .99 for 2x media, you can do a hell of a lot better in many other places. Shop4tech was deceitful with the PIODATA/LEAD DATA PIONEER OEM disks, they were shady with the fact that they were NOT "JOMO" when I think it's clear that they are. Hell, you can just read their posts and figure out that one. And they all of a sudden have this EXCELLENT 4X media which was TESTED on all the major burners and burned all the time @4x. Well, that's intersting, because I burned all but one and they have ALL BURNED no greater then 2x.
While the Meritline 4x media I burned, was consistent for the "most part" @ 4x....with the exception of 2 brands, which I will have to amend my Meritline media post to reflect.
Just beware with these disks and if you want 4x medai, then these disks certainly aren't for you.

At least you didn't pay for them. That's why I reported JOMO/Shop4tech rather than trying his crap. I didn't want to waste time on media I already surmised was garbage and was suspicous of their marketing practices.
This comes as NO SHOCK to myself.
Good job reporting it.I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored. -
I was pm'd too and said yes to the request
however, the user has since been banned, so I doubt I will ever see anything.
oh well -
I recieved a sample batch of the 4X Matrix DVD-R's. They do Burn at 4X, and so far no freezing . At the price, a good deal. I tested on a Pioneer 343.
It doesn't work on a PS2.
