  1. I've been reading this forum for about a year, and usually find the answers to my questions. But I need help with this one.
I started converting my home videos with a wintv go card. The captured files were to dark so I used virtual dub to brighten as I captured and it worked great. I figured it was a flaw in the wintv card and dealt with it.
Now I have bought a dv camera and I have the same problem with the download video, even though I am useing a firewire card. Virtual dub does not work with my dv camera (to my knowledge). So I need a capture program that will let me brighten while downloading my video. Or some other suggestion to help me correct my problem. I have tried different capturing programs and they all do the same thing. I have tried brightening the movie while editing but that is a frame by frame thing and very time consuming. Thanks to anyone who can help.

if you are going to put this on vcd or dvd (or any format to be played on a tv versus a computer monitor), author a small test segment first before you alter any brightness settings.

computer monitors commonly display the video a lot darker than your tv will, so check and make sure - it might be fine, even if it looks dark on the computer.

  4. Thanks for the suggestions. Housepig, I think I tried playing a svd on the tv and it was dark. But I'll try a test to make sure,as it has been awhile back.
