i/o error with dvd decrypt

can someone tell me what the following error from dvd decrypter means?

and then the usual ABORT RETRY IGNORE buttons.

I was doing a rip of The New Guy onto a hardrive and keep getting stopped by this. This is the 1st time i've encountered this. I upgraded my asp drivers, went from adaptec to forceaspi and still get the same error. Is this a hardware problem?

Hp100i dvd+RW, w98, p3 800mhz, 512mb ram, 30gb hdd.

Any ideas?

yeah I have had this happen to me sometimes on some DVDS.. not sure what it is.. i just narrow it down to what VOB or file is doing it.. and then just rip that one by itself and sometimes works.. i would like to know what it means though heh
