  1. I have a video encoded in XViD that has a Dolby Digital track, and is encoded with 25FPS or PAL. If I de-multiplex the XViD and convert the video to NTSC or NTSC film, will I get audio-sync issues?

  2. In order to make sure you don't get audio sync issues you must keep the NTSC version the same length as the original. This will mean removing frames to make it play at 23.976fps with the result that the playback will look slightly jerky.

Another possible aproach would be to take the usual route of slowing down the avi (thus lengthening its playtime) to 23.976fps, so now the audio wont match. However, if you can find the right tools, you can take your Ac3 audio and convert it to 6 seperate wav files. Each file can then be stretched by approx 4% to match the playtime of the new video. You can then re-encode those wav files to AC3. I am sure there will be proffesional tools capable of this, any possibly even freeware ones, but afraid I can't identify them, you will have to ask for more help or figure this one out for yourself.

    Hope this helps
