I am looking for a high-end dvd player (between $500 and $1500) that can be made region free and can play DVD-R. I don't mind if it doesn't convert from PAL to NTSC or if it doesn't have progressive capabilities (my Panasonic Plasma Monitor displays better interlaced signals). I am considering the Denon 3800.![]()
Any suggestions?

all plasma monitors internally convert to progressive anyway ..
odd that interlaced looks better (maybe it does)
should be using component 3 wire -
Any suggestion on a particular model?
My experience has been that the most expensive and sophisticated dvd players have more problems playing cheap DVDRs. -
I got the denon dv1805 5dvd changer that has progressive scan and plays all the dvds you can throw at it dvd-r and dvd+r vcds cd-r +rw its a high end player and you can get it for 350 bux which is worth twice the amount....
