  1. I have an Asus DRW-0402P burner and when i add subtitles to a dvd-r , it will automatically start the subtitles when i play the movie, i always have to turn them off. The other problem i have is i cannot get the menus to start, i always get an error, it even gets an error when i copy dvd5 to dvd5. Ive used all different converting software ic7, dvd2dvdr, dvd2one and dvd decrypter, i use nero to burn the dvd-r's. Does anybody else have these problems and can they be fixed?

  2. What kind of media are you using.

Try another burning software as well (such as RecordNowMax or CopyToDVD)

Also, DVDShrink supposedly is a software that turns on the subs no matter what. I use DVD2One and all my backups come out like the original.

Another thing, do the subs turn on only when you put in a backup or is the same thing true with originals as well?

    Try burning with decrypter.

Also, if you download Daemon Tools from Doom9.net, you can check the image(ISO) file before you burn it. You'll also want IMGtools from Doom9.net to create image (ISO) files.

Daemon Tools is a software that creates a virtual DVD drive on your PC and allows you to watch the DVD just like it would play if it were on a disc.

I always rip with DVDdecrypter in file mode and I rip the entire DVD.

I use IC7 > PDI2ISO > Daemon Tools (to check and make sure everything works like I want it to) > Decrypter to burn.

The best part about this method is that if for some reason IC7 has made some switches or something is wrong with the IFO file that will cause the DVD to not work properly, you can use Decrypter to rip the DVD out of the ISO file playing in Daemon tools and then use IFOedit to fix the problem and you can re-image it without having to recompress it !!

Even if going from DVD-5 to DVD-5 it's always a good idea to run it through IFOedit before putting it back on disc. If for nothing else to make it region free.
