  1. Hello,

I must deliver some important files on DVD-R. Can the discs be verified after the files have been saved? Should the disc be finalized? What about formatting and, most importantly, scanning the surface for errors?

    Well, you catch my drift...

Any advice would be very welcome.

    Thanks,

    Tom.

    P.S. I have a Pioneer A05 burner.

Your question is not a single one but a series of questions. As far as data storage goes I use Record Now Max DLA. You just format the Disc and use it as a extra large floppy with drag/n/drop and with the [make compatible] function it works with everything I have tried. I do not know of a utility to check for surface errors on a DVD but I am sure there is one. I have never had a problem with DLA and that is more than I can say about InCd or Roxio's systems.

PS: I believe data verification is by default and if not you can set it in RNM \main interface.

Nero can verify data as it records to the DVD-r. You can also test the data yourself once you finalized the disk. I do not know how many disks you need to write, but you can also make as many disks as you need for copies, provided of course, you are in accordance with applicable copyright laws.
    Hello.
