I have several DVDs with many clips that I recorded on my Phillips Recorder from 8mm video and I have been using TPMGenc Author to "rip" back to MPG-2 so I can do some basic authoring with them. If I rip and author in TMPgenc I get great results though the program is somewhat limited by it's few templates. I tried using other authring progs like DVD-Lab and DVDit and all goes perfectly well during the actual authoring. I usually build my DVD back to my Hard Drive and save it for future burning to disk. During authoring I preview my menus and links and all works perfectly well. However the created DVD VIDEO_TS when played through Power DVD has no audio. I know that TMPGenc Author rips to MPG-2 and AC3-2 channel stereo. Could that be the problem? Because if I use DVDit with a "Captured File " from my DV cam it all turns out perfectly well. in fact I just did a DVD in DVDit with two files ripped in TMPGenc Author and one encoded in TPMGenc from an AVI that was captured from my cam. The first two have no audio but the last one playes audio perfectly well. Any light that can be shed would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
