Today while I was burning an ISO file of South Park the movie (PAL), I noticed that my Pioneer 105 was burning at 4.9x. I was using dvddecrypter and writing on a Silver top unbranded Ritek G04 DVD-R. Has anyone else done this or was it just a fault with dvddecrypter?

  2. Sounds like it was ripping the disc at 4.9x . Dvd-decrypter shows in the control panel the disc speed (for rip, not for burn). Mine has gone as high as 11.6x . Sounded like a jet plane lol :P

Yea, but they said that they were "burning" an ISO. I doubt they confused burning with ripping.

@_DVD_..I think sometimes DVD Decrypters speed gauge can be a little misleading...as can any burners. I seriously doubht you got those burn speeds, however, I don't doubt that you saw 4.9x for a brief instant...that's possible. The only way to know for sure is to use a burn program ..whichever is "YOUR" favorite...even if that is NERO..."that hurts to say" and "CLOCK" the burn process. Don't watch the speed gauge..just look at how big your file is....and clock the time it started and as soon as it finishes...stop it. If you want an actual time...use a stop watch...then you'll really know. But chances are you didn't burn a 4x disks at 4.9x.
