  1. Hey Guys,

I was doing some thinking. I have some PAL cassettes lying around and I was wondering, if I got a Capture card (something cheap like AIW VE or WinTV). Would it be possible to read in the cassette from a normal US VCR and then capture in NTSC?

    Thanks.

You must have a VCR that will play PAL tapes. They will not even play on a US NSTC VCR. If you have a VCR that plays PAL and outputs the signal as PAL you must capture as a PAL signal. Then you can convert it to NTSC using various programs (Mpeg encoders, etc). If you have a multiformat VCR that plays PAL and will convert the signal to NTSC you will be okay to capture as NTSC. They start in price at around $400 (real cheep ones) and go up from there.

No, you can't do this... It's that damn timing issue thing.
