Having used svcd2dvdmpg with great sucess I decided to upgrade to the + version for the extra features.
Unfortunetly this has caused a problems with audio distorting at high frequencies. It seems tooLame is the problem as MP2enc works fine.
svcd2dvdmpg
MP2enc.dll -> works, audio clear
svcd2dvdmpg+
tooLame.dll (1.5b17 or 18) -> distorted at high frquencies
I've tried on 2 differnece computers with the same results. 2 pass does not help either. mp2 file is fine as well.

Interesting. Fancy uploading a sample for me to look at? Check FAQ on my site to see how.

Try using SSRC (Shibatch Sampling Rate Converter) to re sample from 44 to 48Khz....then convert the audio to whatever format.

Have y'all tried the newest toolame.dll file from the toolame people?
BeSweet just borrows that file... and isn't necessarily current.

I've beeing looking at the samples you sent. I must admit i can't tell the difference but the wife could so there you go. Anyway, i thought i'd do a AC-3 version with SoftEncode to see (hear) the results. So for you & everyone who is interested here are the three samples:
original 44100 mpa
48000 upsampled mpa
48000 upsampled AC3
Let me know your opinion

So then you could use SoftEncode to do AC-3 (assuming you could find a copy) and then you would be ok?
