I'm using TDK DVD+RW media for packet writing and having some problems. The format type only highlights Quick Format and Full Format is not available. Is this normal for packet writing format with a DVD+RW? I'm not using the software included with drive-- Using DirectCD 5.3.1.10d platinum. (I don't want the included bundled software on my comp)
EZCD creator platinum 5.3.1.10d doesn't recognize this drive as a DVD writer.
RecordNow MAX doesn't seem to do well with this drive using DVD+RW.
Nero 5.5.10.35 seems to burn DVD+RW ok, but my old DVD-ROM can't
read the DVD+RW after a burn, is this normal? would the older DVD-ROM have a better chance of reading a DVD-RW? Or is it the optorite drive?

here's my registry hack for Roxio EZCD creator platinum 5.3.1.10d
I played around with the registry strings until I think I got all the supported media of the DD0203:
CD-R
CD-RW
CD-RW (High speed)
CD-RW (Ultra speed)
DVD-R
DVD-RW
DVD+R
DVD+RW
Had to reload Data DVD Project with each hack attempt.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Adaptec\Adaptec Shared\CDEngine\Devices
changed:
DeviceCount from 282 to 283
hexadecimal goes to 11b
added device283 after DeviceCount
value data:
device283 OPTORITE DVD RW DD0203,OPTORITE,DVD RW DD0203,SanCRD-BPDV2_Acctk,cdrmmc.drv,178,,9
What happens if I install updates? Roxio will probably start with device number 283 and overwrite that info? You can export all the registry files from that selected branch to make a copy to restore.
Not sure if this hack does anything for DirectCD??
