Hey,
I was looking at the DVD player compatibility & user comments and found there were some people saying they’ve fixed their XBOX’s by opening the DVD-ROM and modifying the pot to 900 OHMS. Another said, with Microsoft, rebooting solves the problem. Is that possible? If not could authoring be the problem? If it is, I’ll post that on the authoring board. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

From my understanding......in order to play backup games, YOU MUST have a modchip. But if someone has any info otherwise, please let me know.

My Xbox plays DVD+RW fine. There are at least 3 different DVD-ROM drives for the various incarnations of the Xbox so maybe you have a different one than mine (I bought mine when it came out so it is the "original" Thomson one). From what I hear though, all the drives should play DVD-R or +R fine.
