    Hello everyone.

I'm curious about something that's happened to me recently. Does anyone notice DVD Player will not open under certain versions of OS X? I've been running 10.2 for awhile and when I go to open either DVD Player or iDVD 3 they don't do ANYTHING. Just double click and nothing happens. I've gotten DVD Player to work, but only on 10.1.2

Also, i know you can get iDVD to boot on machines without a superdrive, but can you actually burn DVDs with iDVD to a 3rd party drive? i've got an external firewire drive and would love to be able to burn my home movies with iDVD.

    Thanks in advance..

Never noticed that. What irks me is since Jaguar, my DVDs/CDs get spit out on waking from sleep and/or rebooting. Then it takes its own sweet time re-accepting the disc, even though (from sleep mode) it remains visible on the Desktop!

Likewise, never had a problem with the apps. However, i do have an internal superdrive. Since your drive is external, im 98% sure it wont load because it scanns and realizes you dont have an internal superdrive.

i suggest doing more investigation or seeing if someone can confirm that an external drive wont be able to be used with iDVD....

Again, 98% sure it cant (and the reason why it wont load) because its an external drive.

AntnyMD - thats really wierd! I wake from sleep all the time with disks in both my combo and superdrive, never ejects them just like that. Strange!
