  1. Anyone successfully used the version listed above to burn a DVDr that actually worked in a settop player? I have been using 5.5.9.17 to do like 10+ discs that have worked perfectly.

So now I ripped/split/burned LA Confidential in the same way I always have and my standalone player will not play it! (Disc Error).

It works fine in my DVD-ROM and I didn't get any "Illegal Navigation Errors" in IFOEdit. I also didn't switch media brands and these worked in the past so I'm forced to conclude that the problem is the new version of Nero. Anyone offer some ideas?

  2. WHat mode do you burn in?

Most people have no problems with DVD udf/iso with the udf 1.02 box checked. Make sure you have VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders both
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin'

  3. used udf/iso 1.02 as usual. I *never* make a AUDIO_TS folder when I do it. I have many DVDrs that play fine with out it. Plus, I have yet to find any DVD9 that contains an AUDIO_TS folder

Any other ideas? What version of Nero are you using?

  4. NERO 5.5.10.0 WAS TO BLAME!

Damn, I made 5 coasters because I didn't discover that something (feature or bug) present in Nero 5.5.10.0 makes my Philips 724 UNABLE to read my DVD copies. I just retrograded back to 5.5.9.17 and burnt off the same VIDEO_TS as before and it works no pain no strain.

Is anyone else out there using 5.5.10.0? If so is your set-top DVD player able to read the discs you make?

    Let's figure this one out!

How did you burn them. After seeing some posts about problem with 5.5.10.0 I decided that I will not upgrade from my 5.5.9.17.0 since I didn't have problems with it. But I still wonder what could be wrong with burning DVD-Video in new version...

  9. I only just upped to 5.5.10 so I've only burned 4 movies with it. All using DVD/Video mode. All worked on my Sony DVP-NS315.

  10. I've burned 5 DVDs so far since upgrading to 5.5.10... all in DVD Video Mode and all have played perfectly on my Sony DVP-NS715P... I've used DVD-R and +RW... no problems...

  11. I also asked this question in the usenet NGs as well as some others; mixed results, about 50% of the people report the same issue I did w/ 5.5.10.0 while the other 50% had no problems :/

I'd still avoid it if I were you... perhaps wait for the next revision and try that. Donpedro has the best idea: don't upgrade unless you need to! Being on the bleeding-edge is never a good idea if you wish to have stability.
