  1. hiya everyone
i have been succesfully creating svcd for a while now with no problems using 2 cd's but recently a friend of mine has come across some divx movies on 1 cd that look stunning but when i tried to rip one it turns out all blocky and hazy looking no matter what bitrate i use.
so can you tell me what programs and codecs you people use to get a good quality divx on 1 cd and also what sort of settings ie(bitrate) u use
    cheers

You need to set your DivX decoder configuration to highest quality (accessible through Start-Programs-DivX-codec)

    DivX 5.05-adware
The latest DivX free versions (from 5.0 onwards ) stink for encoding-perfectly ok for playback. Adware versions are same as the Pro full versions and show very very few ads, i.e. they are as good as free!!The encoding quality is mindblowing as long as u know what ur doing.

  5. divx 4 will come out like crap.
divx 5.03 has bugs.use 5.05 pro with gordian knot. http://www.doom9.org/gknot-main3.htm
for 1 cd'ers it depends on the dvd if it will look good.most dvds you have to make it 2 cds for it to look close to dvd.
