I have a folder of about 25 real media videos that I want to convert. I don't want to have to do the tedious task of having to enter them in to ffmpegx 1 at a time, click encode, wait for them to encode, then start all over. I was wondering if there was an easier way to do this, perhaps using automator? Thanks for your help.

You don't have to wait for each encode to complete before starting another one -- ffmpegx will queue up all of the encode requests, and take care of them one at a time. It still means that you have to click N times for N files, but maybe that's ok.
Others have written scripts to automate this process even more -- search this forum and you'll find it (I've never used it, so I've forgotten their names; sorry). Also, someone will probably chime in shortly with additional info on this batch-processing script for sure. Btw, that works only if the settings are identical for all of the conversions. IIRC, you can't specifiy different parameters for the conversions in this batch mode. So, if you do need to vary, say, the aspect ratio or bitrates or... on a file-by-file basis, then it's back to "N clicks for N files" for you (again, AFAIK).
