  1. Hi,

I'm a newbie, so here goes...

I've been using Nero 5.5 on my CD-R for a while and now I recently purchased a HP 300e DVD+R burner. When I start Nero, I can't select DVD as the type of media that I want to burn (in the Nero Wizard).
Even if I don't use the Wizard and try to create a new compilation, I do not get DVD as an option in the compilation strip on the left hand side.

Also, under the "Extras" menu option, there is an option to "auto-detect CDROM". I can see that it recognizes my HP 300e, but wants me to select the bus type as either IDE or SCSI. I think it fails the autodetection because of this. The HP 300e is an external drive with firewire interface.

Has anyone run into this problem before? Does this mean that I can't use Nero with an external DVD drive w/ firewire interface? Are there any workarounds?

    Thanks in advance,

    WW

go to www.nero.com - click on "site map".

look for an entry called "supported recorders".

find your recorder in that list, and make sure it's supported in the version of Nero you are using. If it's not, download an upgraded version and install it.
