i just got my DVD burner installed last night (for those who remember, it was set on Master... so it was easy fix)

anyway, i got it all up and running and I downloaded DVDEncryter like the guide says... but like it says, its good for DVD5 movies.... well I was gonna practice last night, but I only own a few movies and they are all DVD9 and it sayed "2 Layers" so my question is....

whats best way to do DVD9???

i know there are a few "compresion" programs like DVD2ONE or DVDSHRINK or something like that, but dont they lose alot of picture and sound quality??? Im not really into losing quality... i wanna keep it the same, or at least so close its not noticable.... I have a 36" Sony Wega with component cables and I must admit, i get a pretty darn good picture, so I dont wanna lose that....

well my other question is.... is there a way to use that dvdencrypter program and make it 2 disks? i thought maybe there was a way to put the EXTRAS on Disk 1, and the MOVIE on Disk 2.... would that fix the problem???

anyway, im new, never burned a single thing yet, so I dont really know much..... i know 2 disks will get alot more expensive too... but overall, whats the best way to do it? if the picture quality is not as good, id rather not do it that way...

    thanks

There are tons of ways, I'd start by reading up in the Guides section. If your stuck wanting as good quality as possible you either need to split it to 2 disc OR use CCE to reencode the file asit gives the best output.

For easy ways to use CCE as well as DVD5 help start here:

well i guess i forgot to mention, i also want a real easy way of doing it.... so I think Ill stick with either 2 disks or compresing it onto 1 disk.... so If I do decide to use 2 disk.... how do I tell the program where to split it? can I tell it extras to one disk, move to one disk??? is that possible... or does it just start recording and when disk 1 if full, then time for disk 2???

and honestly, if I did decide on the dvd2one or dvdshrink, one of those kind of programs.... how bad is the quality?? i mean is it real noticable... is it a bother?? or is it hardly even an issue.... will most people even notice???

  4. There are programs like DVDXCOPY and the like that will do what you are looking for. they are 1 to 1 copiers that will burn and prompt for each disc.
