Can somebody come up with why this AVI will not convert, tried TMPGenc Plus as a last resort, as the other 2 encoders I tried were doing it, but at about 10 times slower than they should be

TMPGenc Plus came back with thi serror message :

Index of scan line is out of range (288)

What the hell is that supposed to mean ??

    Thanks

I've used MC and CCE, plus also Canopus Procoder, all of them either lock up, or take so damn long it just ain't worth it. Instead of about 2 hours absolute max, try looking at around 80+ hours

Well, the AVI is obviously corrupt. Have you tried running it thru VirtualDub to remove bad frames?

  4. Download the "MP3 Freeze" version of Virtualdub from here:
    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html

Then after scanning your AVI it will log a list of bad frames.
You can then decide if you want to remove them (depends how many frames and if it will spoil the film).Instructions here:
