I have a "Phillips DVD 724" player. It is supposed to have a PAL to NTSC converter built in. Although the player is region one,I have heard that it is possible to play discs from other regions. Recently,I tried playing a disk from G.Britain. The disc is actually supposed to be region free. The T.V. screen appears black and white and snowy with horizontal black bars rolling continually upward. The sound from the disc can be heard. Can someone tell me what a screen like this indicates? Thanks...![]()

Otterpup,
Are you sure your dvd player automatically adjusts for NTSC\PAL playback? My sister has a philips dvd player and it will not play PAL discs correctly (black & white and rolling picture). You might want to check for a button on your remote or maybe a switch on the back of your player. Hope this helps.
