There is a program that I believe is Freeware that I have used for a long time that will de-compress the audio in the file for a. The program is (((avi2vcd))) The Program comes with a decompressor that will decompress the video for you. Note: when the file is decompressed it grows in size by double to triple. Basically what the decompressor does is that it decompresses the audio in the file back to PCM audio. U will then be able to open the file.

    Hope this helps... 8)

Get Gspot from the Tools section and test your file, you probably need an audio codec (like maybe AC3).

  4. no, that isn't my problem, I can hear the sound and everything, however, it's just that when I convert it in TMPGENC to a dvd, the audio isn't matched up with the video...

like you see mouths moving when they arent talking but the audio still plays. i needed to decompress the whole audio stream... which i did...

and then i tried to recompress it to a 125.5 plus or minus 12.7, but I could find anything close to that for PCM or anything in dWAVcompressor (Droopy Eyes Software) What the heck do I do 2 solve this problem?

    Thanks,

    Dan

Use Goldwave to create a wav file from your source (load it in then save), then use your wav file as the audio source.

BTW, did you scan for bad frames first?

This is what I would do if I was in your situation. I would 1st De-compress the file like I talked about previously BEFORE you let TMPGEnc turn it into a DVD Compliant MPG.

The Problem that you may be having is that it may have a few bad frames that are causing the Audio Sync issue. Also It may be that you do not have a updated or correct codec for the audio in the ORIGINAL file.

When you de-compress the ORIGINAL file you are de-compressing back to PCM audio. TMPGENC can handle the PCM audio MUCH MUCH better than whatever audio the ORIGINAL file has.

    Hope this helps...
