  1. Is the VIDEO_TS folder I get using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode(selecting main movie only) ready to be burned or does it need further editing?
I burned it on a DVD-R but I get an error when trying to play it on my DVD player.
    Thank you!

In ifo mode while it creates a VIDEO_TS folder it does not create the required set of ifo files that are needed. You need to create the ifo files using a program called IFOEDIT. You need to rename the vob files to VTS_01_1.VOB,etc before creating the ifo's.

  3. Unless you are familiar with ifoedit, I would suggest using dvdshrink reauthor to get that specific title. If the title is small enough to be burned on 1 dvdr, then you don't have to compress it at all. The result from dvdshrink is ready to be burned to dvdr using burning prog of your choice. It would also be quicker than dvddecrypter+ifoedit combo and result would be the same.

  4. Everyone makes IfoEdit sound like this big monster that you should only approach wearing armor and carrying a shield. It's the first program that I used to make a backup. If you look around on the web enough you can find a guide that that will take you through the process step by step. It's not as pretty, or as user friendly as DVDShrink, but it works very well.

DVD Shrink is an erraticbbuggy monster. It takes the current version 55-60 minutes to convert a disk that has already been ripped with DVD Decrypter. Ifoedit would take 10-15 minutes. If you don't wand to use Ifoedit than I would suggest DVD2ONE,it will open the directory as ripped and convert it. It will create the required ifo files and it will rename the vob's automatically, much easier than Ifoedit. It is sharware and costs $45.00 but it can also compress a DVD that's over 4.37GB also.
