WAV is about 10x larger file.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  4. Though wav is 10x larger, it's not neccessary 10 better audio, but the quality is superior to ac3 sound. All Bruce Springsteen DVD's have dual audiotracks, one wav (LPCM) and one AC3 (Dolby Digital).

Don't confuse AC3 and 5.1, 5.1 is one way to encode in DD, but you can use 2.0 (stereo) as well.

  5. AC3, Mpeg1 layer2, Dts, Wav, etc. is the encoder type.

5.1, 2.0, 4.1, etc. is the nunbers of channels...

Look at AC3 (dolby digital) as MP3, the more than you compress your audio the worst quality that you will get...
